The purpose of the Good News is to further the Gospel mission of the sisters by sharing the good news of the congregation with our friends, family, companions, and sisters. Through this publication we share the charism of the congregation and invite others to become involved in our mission.
Good News is published three times a year (spring, summer, winter) by the Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia. We welcome your feedback.
Keeping Hope and Dreams Alive; Educating Youth in Kenya
Students at Lawson High School in Kenya, Africa, are beating the odds and making plans for promising futures because they have been provided the opportunity for a quality education. Sisters Frances Cassidy and Rose Monica Katusz, along with seven other Kenyan teachers, have made it their mission to help these students reach their goals through secondary education. READ
A Franciscan Presence in an Institution of Mercy: Companioning the Aged, Infirm, and Dying
Sisters Kathy Dauses and Michele Therese Kriczky have been providing compassionate pasoral care to the elderly, the sick, and the dying at Stella Maris Nursing Home in the Baltimore area for many years. The ministry, which many might think to be a depressing one, actually offers the opportunity to build relationships, find peace, and offer comfort when it is needed most. READ
