Cooking presentation will focus on cooking delicious Italian cuisine using fresh, local and organic ingredients.

Aston, PA – Red Hill Farm, a 130-member CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) farm associated with the Sisters of Saint Francis of Philadelphia, has announced it will offer an Italian cooking demonstration on Saturday, October 9 at 3 P.M., to demonstrate creative ways to cook using fresh produce available at the farm. The cooking demo is a great event for those who loves fresh Italian cuisine and wants to learn how to prepare their own mouthwatering dishes at home, utilizing the skills shared by a renowned Philadelphia chef.

“The event is also an opportunity for people to learn more about or become more involved with sustainable agriculture and local foods. Of course it is also a great opportunity for those who just want to eat better-tasting and fresher produce!” says Adam Hill, farm educator at Red Hill Farm.

The culinary tutorial will be presented by farm member Carlo Sena, who has years of experience in fine Italian cooking. He owns the award-winning Ristorante Panorama, located in the Old City section of Philadelphia. His family also owns the highly acclaimed Le Castagne Ristorante and La Famiglia Ristorante, also located in downtown Philadelphia.

The Sena family tradition of culinary excellence began in Post World War II Naples. Since then, the family has come to Philadelphia and blessed the area with their savory old world fare while also creating new contemporary dishes.

Samples will be provided following the demonstration.  The event is free for farm members. Nonmembers will be charged a small fee of $5. Interested participants should contact Abygail Ollila at (610) 558-6799 or email Aollila@osfphila.org.
