Anna's Place: Quiet Refuge in a Busy City
Aston, PA — After much cleaning, painting, and repairing, Anna’s Place, a hospitality/drop-in center in Chester, is ready to receive its first guests. Sponsored by the Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia, Anna’s Place is named after the congregation’s foundress, Maria Anna Bachmann (Mother Francis).
Anna’s Place welcomes adult guests and offers something for everyone. Sister Mary Peter Kerner, OSF, and a host of volunteers have set up a game room where visitors can relax and a conversation room where they can gather to read, watch TV, or chat with friends. Arts and crafts are available for those who want to share their talents and a prayer room provides an opportunity to spend a few minutes in quiet reflection. Visitors may stop by the snack room to enjoy a hot drink and a plate of cookies. All in all, Anna’s Place offers a quiet refuge in the midst of a busy but sometimes lonely city.
