Sister Mary Vandergeest, OSF, Executive Director of the Franciscan Ministries Foundation is pleased to announce two new members to the Board of Directors: Thomas L. Kenyon, Principal, The Kenyon Group, and H. David Tamimie, Senior Vice President and Senior Relationship Manager in Wachovia’s Tax Exempt Advisory Group.
Mr. Kenyon has spent more than thirty-five years using his unique ability to bring strong business practices to companies and organizations through strategic planning. During that time he served on numerous boards where his business experience was put to good use. Mr. Kenyon was the Executive Director and CEO of the Fund for Educational Advancement in Newark, New Jersey. He was also President and CEO for the National Alliance to End Homelessness in Washington, DC. In addition, Kenyon served on the White House Community Service Committee and was appointed Secretary of Housing and Urban Development to serve on a Congressional Task Force on Occupancy Standards in Public and Assisted Housing. He has written numerous articles and reports. He works closely with national news media on issues of diversity, race relations, poverty, homelessness, education, health, employment, and environment.
Mr. Tamimie is in his 18th year with Wachovia and is responsible for advising a select group of not-for-profit clients on the full range of their financial and banking needs from capital formation, to treasury management, to investments, to insurance and planned giving. Prior to his employment with Wachovia, Mr. Tamimie served as Relationship Manager for Large Corporate Clients in New York City. In addition, he also served as Relationship Manager and Vice President in the Capital Markets Division covering Fortune 100 insurance companies throughout the United States. Tamimie grew up in Baghdad, Iraq, and speaks fluent Iraqi Arabic. He is a Coast Guard Reserve Officer and currently holds a rank of Commander (O-5), providing daily Homeland Security along the entire New Jersey Shore and throughout the Delaware River. He and his wife Rose currently reside in King of Prussia.
Sister Mary Vandergeest said of Thomas and David, “These individuals will play key roles in our continued growth as a foundation, working toward sharing the mission of the Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia with others who are in need of our assistance.”
