Aston, PA — The Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia will host their 12th Annual Golf Tournament and Auction on Monday, September 18, 2006 at The Springhaven Club, Wallingford, Pennsylvania. Proceeds from the tournament will benefit the ministries of the Sisters of St. Francis which include the local ministry of St. Mary’s Franciscan Shelter in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania.
At the dinner, a former client of St. Mary’s Franciscan Shelter will share her story and the assistance she received from the staff at St. Mary’s which has helped her improve her life situation.
Cost per person is $275 which includes greens fees, cart, lunch, cocktails and dinner. Auction items will include get-away packages, in-home dinners prepared by a well-known local chef, sports tickets and memorabilia, and much, much more. Team and door prizes will also be awarded.
In addition, sponsorship opportunities are still available! All sponsors receive recognition on the day of the event and in promotional materials. Current sponsors are: Neumann College (primary sponsor) and Sodexho (champion sponsor).
Today, nearly 700 Sisters of St. Francis serve in a variety of ministries in a multitude of settings. Those ministries include education at all levels; health care; pastoral care, service to elderly persons; care of those who are homeless, poor, living with HIV/aids, immigrants, and refugees; and prayer and spiritual ministries. Although there is a large concentration of sisters in the Delaware Valley area, sisters live in 25 states as well as Africa, Europe, and the Caribbean.
