Aston, PA— Sister Rosalie Bertell, PhD, GNSH, will speak on the effects of depleted uranium on our environment on Saturday, March 18, 2006 at 10 AM at Our Lady of Angels Convent, 609 S. Convent Road here.  An internationally recognized expert in the field of radiation, Sister Rosalie has worked for more than 50 years to expose the effects of radiation on the citizens of the world. A member of the Grey Nuns of the Sacred Heart, Yardley, PA, this “antinuclear nun” credits a doctorate in biometry for the academic background and her faith for the spiritual strength for her life’s work—to fight against the earth’s environmental contamination.

One of the nominees for the “1000 Women for the Nobel Peace Prize 2005” project, Sister Rosalie is founder and past president of the International Institute of Concern for Public Health and was formerly editor-in-chief of International Perspectives in Public Health.  Dr. Bertell directed the International Medical Commission-Bhopal which investigated the aftermath of the Union Carbide disaster in Bhopal, and directed the International Medical Commission-Chernobyl, which convened the Tribunal on violations of the human rights of victims in Vienna, April 1996.

This event, sponsored by The Committee for Responsible Investment of the Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia, is offered free of charge, but advance reservations are necessary.
